Description

Belarus and Italy have plans to intensify cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry. The declaration of intent was signed by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Salerno Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 12 November.

The document was signed by BCCI Chairman Vladimir Ulakhovich and Vice-President of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce and Industry Antonio Ilardi. The sides believe that the declaration will facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economy between Belarus and Italy’s region of Campania.

“I am convinced that this document will lay a solid foundation for closer ties in economy and trade,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said. He emphasized that one of the BCCI’s major objectives is to promote cooperation with foreign partners, because it helps forge new ties between the business community of Belarus and businessmen from foreign states.

As far as cooperation with Italy is concerned, the BCCI previously signed cooperation agreements with several Italian chambers of commerce and industry. “It is very important for us to develop cooperation with Italian partners. Besides, we have a positive cooperation experience. Italy attaches much importance to contacts and ties on the regional level, because it opens up great opportunities to establish ties between the small business and the medium-size business,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

According to Antonio Ilardi, some northern provinces of Italy have already developed close ties with Belarus. “At the same time, there is no chamber of commerce and industry in Italy’s southern regions that managed to establish such solid relations with Belarusian partners. We should set an example,” the Vice-President of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce and Industry said.
